The airport is located 5 km (3 Miles) southeast of the City Centre.

In fact, the Dubai International Airport (DXB), a vital link for business, commerce and tourism, is considered the largest hub in the Middle East. Its state-of-the-art facilities and runways permit daily take-offs and landings carrying visitors in and out of the emirate. This airport can be reached by daily flights from anywhere internationally on Emirates Airlines.

Weather
Dubai enjoys abundant sunshine all year round. Dubai has a dry, sub-tropical climate with exceptionally hot summers (May-October) with high humidity near the coast, when temperatures can exceed 40°C. The mild winters (November to April) have a pleasant temperature range from 10°C to 30°C.

Visa
Visa requirements for entering Dubai vary greatly between different nationalities and it is always advised to check regulations before travelling.

Currently, every nationality entering the UAE needs a visa except:

Citizens of GCC countries (Gulf Cooperation Council: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia) expatriate residents of the GCC (certain nationalities and professions) and British citizens with the right of abode in the UK.
Visa on Arrival

Citizens of Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the Vatican.
Nationals from Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Korea in Asia, as well as those from the United States of America and Canada.

For all other nationalities, a visa must be applied for before the visitor enters the country either through their respective embassy.
